The main objective of the BRAC Health Programme (BHP) is to promote a comprehensive understanding and access to health among disadvantaged communities by offering preventive, promotive, curative, and rehabilitative services, with a primary focus on reducing maternal, neonatal, and child mortality. BRAC's approach involves a community-driven model with dedicated community health workers (CHWs) who deliver essential services, improve health knowledge, and increase access to quality healthcare for the most vulnerable populations
The expected outcomes of BRAC's health programmes include reduced maternal, neonatal, and child mortality and morbidity, improved knowledge and access to family planning and reproductive health services, and increased access to vision care and other health services. Other goals involve improving sanitation, promoting healthy diets, increasing vaccination rates, and preventing infectious diseases through a network of trusted community health workers who provide preventive and basic curative care, especially in underserved areas
